BIT3204 BIT Project

As a partial fulfillment of requirements for the award of the degree, the student is required to carry on graduation research project whose findings are reported in a research report /dissertation which the student writes at the final semester. This requires that the student selects a company / institution as his /her case study and does his / her research about this organization / company / institution.
This course, therefore, requires that a student carries out a research project in any field of interest. The selection of the topic will be done during the second semester of study. Investigations into specialized area of either practical or experimental nature under the guidance of a faculty member. Permission to register are of investigation shall be subject to the approval of the department. This project may be carried out at Busitema University or in industry and it may include theoretic investigations or systems design and development activity of hardware and /  soft ware nature. The project will be carried at the end of the second semester examinations and be handed in within two months after the last written paper in the second semester.

Course objectives
The objectives of the course are to: 

• Enable the student to carry out research
• Expose the student to the application of the learned concepts and knowledge to solving a research problem
• Enable the student apply the concepts learned in the research methodology course to areal research project
• Teach the student how to transition from a research proposal to a research report      

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

• Conduct a research project that involves a real faces problem
• Apply and transfer knowledge from the area of learning to the research
• Write a research proposal
• Write and defend the project report.
