Course Unit Description

This unit is designed to provide an insight into the definitions, nature and concept of management. By the end of the unit, you are expected to have an overview of what management entails, whether management is an art or science and who a manager is.

Course Objectives
This course will enable students to:

  • Conceive and develop entrepreneurial opportunities
  • Determine the feasibility of a new business concept 
  • Develop familiarity with business plans; and
  • Learn basic skills regarding how to turn an innovative idea into a real business

Learning outcomes
By the end of this unit, you should be able to: 

  • Identify business opportunities at your disposal
  • Write a good undoubtable business plan
  • Recognize and evaluate business opportunities under dynamic economic settings; and
  • Gain first-hand experience of staring a new venture by developing a business plan.
