DAP2104 Animal Nutrition and Feed Production Technology

This course introduces nutrition as a process of generating farm products. Energy partitioning and metabolism together with a description of feed technologies in the tropics and sub-tropics that are in the areas of emphasis here.

Course Objectives

• To equip students with sufficient knowledge about latest feed processing technologies as it applies to feed production.
• To equip students with knowledge in feed harvesting and storage methods.

At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

• Identify different feed ingredients and Compute rations
• Process, Formulate and produce animal feeds using different technologies and methods.
• Identify different animal feeds and feed animals properly
