DYB2201 Optics
Course Unit Title
DYB2201 Optics
Course Unit Description
The course covers introductory principles of geometrical optics; reflection and refraction, thin lenses and optical instruments.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Explain the principles of optics
- Describe the characteristics of images formed by concave and convex mirrors;
- State the relationship between u.v.f. and r. in spherical mirrors and use it to solve numerical problems
- Explain the characteristics of phenomena caused by reflection and refraction and solve problems
