Course Unit Description

Most of the literature and research on entrepreneurship relates to E-Commerce; appreciate the factors for entrepreneurial E-Commerce, mythologies surrounding e-commerce. In a world were change is continuous and disruptive, organizations and methods of development are being called into question and in this course attention is focused on the entrepreneurial e-commerce and how it needs to be managed and developed, if it is to compete successfully and retain its entrepreneurial drive and focus. 


Course Objectives  
The course is intended to equip students with the ability to:

  • Appreciate and use general entrepreneurial development in the context of e-commerce; 
  • Internalize entrepreneurial strategies in relation to e-commerce in order to run small scale business units;
  • Build on the appreciation of contemporary e-commerce and entrepreneurship 
  • Develop optional competencies for effective entrepreneurial management while putting e-commerce into consideration

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Appreciate the forces driving the entrepreneur to exploit e-commerce; 
  • Appreciate the significance of e-commerce to prospectus entrepreneurs
  • Evaluate key techniques of e-commerce for effective entrepreneurial development
  • Recognize the fundamentals of current entrepreneurial development strategies in relation to e-commerce
  • Take note of website use for tracking results
  • Describe the ways in which e-commerce promotes business security and privacy
