DAP2107 Apiculture

This course covers the important aspects of the bee keeping industry in Uganda, enabling the students to engage in this industry.

Course Objectives

• To train students on the different technologies used in Apiculture
• To equip students with skills and knowledge in bee keeping production 
• To equip students with knowledge on value addition and marketing of bee products.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

• Identify the needs, behavior health and management of honey bee colonies
• Set up an apiary and manage it
• Advise farmers on the appropriate technologies used in bee keeping and product development.
