Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, a student can:
- Analyze the celestial sphere, coordinate systems and graphics conversion of coordinates.
- Practical use of nautical almanac; calculation of local coordinates from Greenwich, time, sunrise and sunset, twilights, meridian passage(upper/lower), latitude (Polaris, merid, passage).
- Analyze and correct altitude by use of nautical tables.
- Apply spherical trigonometry to identification of celestial bodies,
- Demonstrate the elements of drawing a line of position and compass deviation control.
