Course Unit Description

The overall aim of the course is to introduce students to the concepts of Specifications and supply Management. Specifically, the course will analyze the importance of Specifications in the entire purchasing process and Supply Management.

 

Course Objectives  
By the end of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of Specifications
  • Describe how a buyer can contribute to preparing Specifications
  • Identify the different types of Specifications and suggest how each type may be appropriate
  • Discuss the sources of Supply market information
  • Explain the tools for Supplier performance measurement
  • Assess supply risks and provide approaches for supply risk management
